Kenya Heads to the Much Anticipated IMEX in Frankfurt

A delegation of Kenyan business tourism stakeholders will from 21st May 2019 to 23rd May 2019 embark on a campaign to market and position Kenya as a favourable business events and conferencing destination at the IMEX show in Frankfurt

Kenya is a leading business destination in Sub-Saharan Africa with major international corporates having a presence in the country.

The country boasts top of the range facilities including conferencing centres and leading hotel chains like Kempinski, Radisson Blu, Inter-Continental Hotel, Marriot, Hilton Hotel, and many others.

The Country is putting up a mega convention facility, one of its kind in Africa that will attract world major events from across the World. This facility will be finished in 2020.

Kenya’s capital Nairobi is the only city in the world with a national park, allowing guests to enjoy their business meetings and enjoy the safari experience close proximity to the city.

The country is also well connected by international airlines through European and Middle East hubs. Last year, the national carrier Kenya Airways started direct flights connecting New York and Nairobi.

The delegation from Kenya will be led by Top government officials including the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Chief Executive Officer and management of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). KICC is Kenya’s state corporation whose objective is to promote the business of Meetings, Incentives travel, Conferences and Exhibitions also known as MICE. It is the largest Convention Centre in Eastern Africa with the capacity to hold a large number of delegates.

The Kenyan team will be available for one on one interviews and to answer questions around the:

  • Opportunities available in Kenya’s tourism industry
  • Development of Kenya’s Meetings, Incentives Travel, Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) also known as Business Events Industry
  • Kenya’s MICE Capacity and Infrastructure
  • Kenya’s Conference Tourism trends
