The ability for airlines to succeed today in the eyes of the customer, is measured according to many key success factors, including comfort, routes offered, cabin crew, amenities and so on. But what does it really all come down to? The answer is consistency. With any airline, the ability to provide what was promised on every flight, every day makes the difference. A large part of that consistency is on-time performance. Here’s a look at Africa’s best on-time airlines according to Cirium’s 2019 Report.
Middle East and Africa – Network
2019’s best on-time airline was Ethiopian Airlines at a rate of 72% of the time. It is followed by Kenya Airways and EgyptAir at 60% and 54% respectively. These are the only airlines to make it into the top 10 punctual airlines.
Middle East and Africa – Mainline
2019’s best on-time airline was South African Airways at a rate of 74% of the time. It is followed by Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways at 72% and 59% respectively. These are the only airlines to make it into the top 10 punctual mainline flights.
Cirium works with over 90 per cent of the world’s top 50 airlines. The company, which has published its annual On-time Performance (OTP) Review for the past 11 years, provides a definitive list of the world’s best performing airlines and airports for on-time flight operations.
